IN MIEZZ OR MARE

The image represents, an emotion of mine off the Gulf of Naples, during the journey to the island of Ischia; I had just got off from Florence and headed straight to the port.

along the ferry ride I was in the presence of so much beauty, I admired it, I contemplated, a particular day, all immersed in a milky light, the blue sea, the blue sky, the blue coast, it seemed to be in another dimension, a burst of disruptive, explosive emotion, and around me everything was explosive, the sea, the fish.

I believe that the image of the fish coming to the surface after a marine explosion, is nothing more than an unconscious recollection of events that as a child I saw at the sea in the lake; A gentleman used to fish for fish with paper bombs that he threw at the fish walking on the seabed, as a miraculous and great amazement they came to the surface.

I wanted to represent it with the nocturne, more congenial to my feeling of colors. I love strong theatrical, passionate, warm colors, it is the color of Fire. To design the image it cost me a lot of time of study, in the painting all the compositional details all studied and meditated. even the moon, I had to study it, I also wanted to feel the orbital passage around the earth, I felt the earth in a starry night turning like a carousel, lying on the ground to contemplate the miracle, and the moon moved greeting me, its face changed appearance at each passage.
